You guys are way overthinking my reply.
Everyone knows what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, however, few are familiar with the North Vegas slogan: What happens in North Vegas will haunt your dreams forever.

Because spiritual herpes sticks with you for all eternity. You can't just get some spiritual penicillin and call it a day. This is serious, serious business.

Anyway, who said spiritual herpes were the post-mortem form of living herpes viruses?

This sounds like 'the secret'. Just hope for something really hard, and the universe might grand you your wish!

Did it work, have you developed intelligence yet?

Funnily enough, the people who believe and understand such things are happy through them. The people who do not believe, and do not understand, generally are sarcastic and disappointed.

Well, I'm glad that everyone is so firm in their beliefs of what they don't know for certain will happen. The OP's concept is something I've thought of myself though. I often wondered if the Vikings ever did get to go to that eternal dream they called Valhala after they died, whilst all others ended up where they believed they would end up.

But dwelling on such things for long doesn't really get me anywhere. Neither does arguing things we know nothing about. As for the whole atheist/religious war going on between folks of late, have fun debating. I'm glad both sides brought plenty of proof with them to back their arguments.

Quite the big claim. The people I know that are as sceptical as I am, are all quite happy. I at least know no-one that is as sceptical as me that is depressed. I do know a depressed Christian and a few depressed people that do believe in quite nonsensical bullshit. Even though you set a new standard for them.

But these handful of people don't prove the thesis that 'people who do not believe' are as or more happy than people that 'do believe (all the bullshit they think sounds nice)'. As I doubt that you have done or based your claims on research about the psychological well-being of certain types of people. Still, you never cared for thinking your claims though, have you?

Anyhow, I know a lot of mentally handicapped people are quite happy drooling in their wheelchair. Also drunken people in general make a far more happy appearance then those boring sober people. I guess next time I will trust the judgement of the drunk and the retard.

I did not say all people. I was stating what is apparent to me. I have yet to see a compassionate skeptic who's blood does not boil over false assumptions. And no doubt, is there believers who identify with illusions.

No need to over-analyze an observation.

You come across as a self-righteous delusional kid with no capabilities to reflect on your own theories and a giant gap when it comes to actual knowledge.

I might be wrong, but lets live it at this observation.

Scientism is its own punishment. As unpleasant as they are attempting to derail all attempts at discussion, imagine what it must feel like to be enclosed in that belief system. *shudders* Put them on ignore if you need to.

Science doesn't require you to believe anything - when something is proven it becomes a fact.
Religion and stuff like afterlife is just blind faith and speculation.

Actually their are some scientific studies about afterlife. Or at least what happens when you die. When you die, or maybe in the minutes before, your pineal gland(third eye) releases DMT into the brain. DMT is the most powerful psychedelic drug, and I believe it causes some kind of transcending of the soul from the body. In studies by Rick Strassman, people reported experiencing something more real than reality. I don't know exactly what happens, but it is definetly something profound. Check out the research of Rick Strassman if your interested.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

That is fascinating. I wish it was true.
But I'm afraid that's the problem...people want it to be true, so they invent evidence to make it true.
I'm not saying that scientist is a nut, just making a statement...

I'm pretty sure it is true. Even if you don't have a soul(which I think you do), you would then have a massive hallucination when you die. If you meditate you can train your mind to stay consciouss when this happens. Thats why the buddhist lammas practice dying and stuff. I think this is why afterlife is all about beleif, because you create your afterlife with this "hallucination". But personally, I think hallucinations are just as "real" as anything else, there just a different way of experience. I can't really explain that very well, you have to experience it.

I don't think so, yesterday the grass was green, and apparently, since this thread on a different site that I'm reading right now says so, this means the afterlife is about apple pies...

I'm not really sure. But I think that it might get released in the moments before if you think that you are going to die. NDEs are supposed to be very similar to the effects of DMT. It might also be that thats where ghosts come from, but don't really believe in the idea of ghosts. Theres a lot of possibilities.

But I think a lot of it has to do with your mindset. Like people who smoke DMT just to trip out often have bad trips. I think this is because they don't realize what is about to happen to them. Likewise, I think if you accept that you are dying and let go of your life you experience "heaven". If you cling to the physical world, you freak out and "go to hell". But I think that this may only be the transitory stage of afterlife. Personally I think that if you have any desires or goals you want to accomplish in the physical world you eventually somehow reincarnate, but if you let go of everything you enter Nirvana. But I'm not sure about all that stuff.
