How Lucid Dreaming opened my eyes to the natural world

This is a story from a little while ago, but another thread inspired me to put it here.

Anyways, a while ago (a couple months ago maybe) I had gotten really into lucid dreaming. I was on this website 24/7, constantly trying to better myself. As that persistent energy had slowly drained off, I had satisfied myself with a few lucids a month.
Well, something very odd happened one week.
I had 3 lucids, and in all of them, the same thing happened. No matter what the dream was about, at one point, I looked up towards my top left towards what I saw was some thick trees (some sort of woods) with the sky behind it. In 2 dreams it was a blue sky, and in the other dream, it was a dusk/dawn sky.
Well, one day, I was riding my bike through my neighborhood. I looked up and saw the woods that surround my neighborhood (Florida is much, much more rural than most people realize...) and it struck me then that it was almost the same as it had been in my dream. In that second, instinct took over, and without thinking about it, I was immersing myself in all of the feelings around me. The sun, the wind, each sight, in it's own radiating beauty. Then I realized what I was doing, and realized just how amazing the littlest things are.

Well, just thought I'd share that with you guys. Comment if you have something to say.

it was a beautiful feeling wasnt it? Brought you back to a primative state? Did your body feel lighter? colors more vivid? smells more intense? Ive had these kinds of moments myself. Dreaming of an experiance, and then randomly living it. Personally I think hidden in that moment, there is a lesson to be learned.

      Yes!

Same thing. This is the best thing Lucid Dreaming has brought to my life. It has given me the ability to live in the moment. It hapened when I was thinking of a lucid dream. I remembered how amaze I was of the vividness and stuff. I realized that I was truly amaze.. but there had not been anything more special than in real life in that dream. It had been a completly uninteresting place but since it had been a dream, I had been so amazed. I wondered why this should only happen in dreams and since then, most of the time, I can live in the moment. I call it being lucid in real life. It's when I become conscious of my surroundings in the waking world. This barely ever hapened to me before.

Abra, I guess you can only feel this when you are conscious of your surroundings and its a bit like Tibetan Dream Yoga. Anyways, its very hard to be in this state all the time but I'm trying aand I think one day, I will succeed. Being consciouss 100% of the time is very hard though. Especially when you are working or talking. It's easier when you're alone and not doing anything particular so you just look around you.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

those dreams are my favorite! feeling the wind as it passes over a field of grass in a dream is super awesome, if not more real than waking life.

but you can also use these dreams to interact with nature in a way that normally wouldn't in waking life. like....eating random things. pebbles, twigs, leaves, moss, dirt, bark.

been meaning to find a good cavern in my dream and see what crystal tastes like

You experienced presence. And you can experience it whenever you want. Observe your breathing, (do it now,) and look at your surroundings as if it is for the first time in your life. No name, no label, no knowledge about any of the things you see. Just observe with all your senses. And finally, don't be in your thoughts, observe your own thinking as well.
Come on! What if Martin Luther King said: "I kinda have a dream... nah, I don't wanna talk about it."

I thought the purpose of asking a question is so that you can learn something?

Sorry, haven't been on in a few days.

Anyways, I've been focusing more on this lately. Another thing that helps me is my glasses. I just got them a year ago. Immediately, I noticed a huge change in the way I saw things (that is, after the ground stopped tilting up at a 60 degree angle ). My sight originally wasn't so terrible (20/40 and 20/25) but it's rapidly degenerating. I can barely make out a face at 40 feet in a dimly lit room if I don't have my glasses.
However, if I take them off for a little bit, and put them back on, it's easy to get lost in the sharpness and color that I notice.

      Anyways, off topic:
Nice to hear from you again, Sleepy. Your English has improved incredibly.

And, was Carousol banned for real, or is it one of those things where they just write "banned" under the title? Either way, Carousol, it'd be appreciated if you'd not come around here, or any of my threads, unless you have something useful to say.

Thanks to everybody who posted seriously.

Also, I'm happy that lucid dreaming has brought you the gift of presence!
I love it. I wish I could be that way 100% of the time but its very hard.

Rofl, I'm going to try that in my next LD!

I feel the same as OP. I have felt similar before I discovered LDing, but once I studied awareness, it brings it to a whole new level.

It is tiring though. Straining on the mind to be aware all the time. That's why I can't seem to hold my awareness for any good amount of time.
      Lolwut.
