To make my point clear, know this. God tried to keep us locked away, unaware of anything around us and so... thusly said, we can give all credit for who and what we are to the Serpent (who everyone regards as the Devil) so if you look at it he really is the true Hero of Genesis, the one who created us as we are now, and not God.

Now, I know you're going to pick holes in that, I just wanna enjoy seeing you try...
what do you think about this: HE did notcreated us without knowldge. i think in the beginning we were aware of everything as it was. we didn`t need to know about anything because it just was. But when we tryed to ask why and look for how things are working he just let us find out. in my oppinion thats wy we are now forced to see two sides on every medal so that we can differenciate both sides in order to get aware that in it its just one. once we stepped on that path we wre damned to finish it till in the end we`ll get to HIM again.

So by your supposition, your god strongly discourages seeking knowledge.

That explains soooo much about the posts here.

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

No, he neither discourages nor encourages us. The posibility to "know" is a result of the fact that we are forced to differ one side of the other. Every time we make a decission there is an other possibility that we didn`t decide to. So only by the reunion of contradictions we can see truth, i think.
But actually i`m not quite sure what you mean because i`m not native english speaking and so i don`t recognize sarcasm or jokes you might do....

Nope. What you're saying is that he penalized man for seeking knowledge. That's not "indifferent" that's hostile and discouraging.

      *emphasis was mine.

I don`t think that " [i]my[/i ]" God is hostile and discouraging: by let us find out I ment to say that by that time we were free to make own experiences so you can also see it as a blessing. Actually if we regard it as a damnation or as a blessing depends on our point of view. And i think there is not that much difference between both terms...

He punished you for stepping onto that path, by your own admission. So again - he discouraged* seeking knowledge, and rather strongly.

      * Discourage: To persuade (a person) not to do something: deter, dissuade, divert. Idioms: talk out of. (M.W. Unabridged, 2004)

If you had known that you'd be "damned to finish something" or instead have no disease, no poverty, no suffering, no ill-will - we'll, you'd probably pick the latter, huh? Therefore he attempted to deter, dissaude, and divert the seeking of knowledge. Ergo: to discourage.

God said, "Don't eat that fruit. Hey, don't eat that fruit! Okay, that's it. You have to wear clothes. You've shown how you handle being naked."
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

Wish I'd thought of this when I was a kid... "Sorry, mom, I can't eat fruit. God hates fruit."

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

ok, you got me! I must admit I`m guilty. Actually I don`t know anything about the Bible.
      ...could have been working..
In the end i`m open-minded! so share your thoughts or your beliefs if you`d be so kind.
However the last word is yours, kim!
