Wow, tempers are flaring in this thread and we haven't even got started. (I made a point, so sue me).

Still waiting for one reply, but whether or not I hear from him it'll be posted by midnight tonight.

Damn! Only a half hour after I posted, and already we've got an out of place post!
I edited my first post and added a third "Do Not Reply To This Thread" in the largest font possible to prevent it from happening again, but I doubt it'll work.
Anyway, I PM'd Howie to see if he'd move 888's reply over here or delete it.

what kind of debate has inappropriate posts? or ones that have a proper place? move it if you like im not arsed but i think it belongs where it is. all points are relevant and restricting your discussion to a select few is intensly dangerous ethos where you can choose whos right so long as its one of the right ones.
my post is about putting an end to a pointless argument and interjecting a fresh perspective on a discussion between individuals who are so wrapped up in it that it seems to be becoming an unhealthy obsession for them.
its a technique that religious sheep love as it restricts their ability to take criticism of their views and eventually just confirms their dogged singlemindedness.
the jesus freaks appear to need to get another one of them in to "rebutt" you tsen so my 2 cents are just as relevant.
out of place post? what? oh my god cant have an opinion in our discussion that isnt thoroughly vetted and approved as it might lead to open discussion and we cant have that.

We have this entire board for debates. You want to maturely debate religion, use this forum. However, being new here you should at the very least respect us and our guidelines.

There is history of debate between Keeper, Tsen and Ne-Yo. A very heated debate, and between the three nearly every thread in the board gets taken over and turned into an "anti-this-person" thread. The Showdown thread was made to stop that. So that they can concentrate the argument between the 3 of them in that single thread, with out over taking the rest of the board.

The thread is public because everyone here knows about the rivalry between them and we are anxious to see how it turns out. There will be a voting on who was more convincing later, but the thread is for the two of them and with good reason.

So the thread is too be vacant of posts from anyone but them, and if you look at the date it was posted, you'd notice that everyone here respected that and left it be. You just posted there ranting on. Show some respect for our board.

sho nuff exo ill leave them to it but its a dangerous ethos and even if one of them is right it is most unhealthy take on things imho an interjection here and there to balance their perspectives is a good thing methinks and will pop the odd ego bubble and try to tell me keeper dont need off his high horse.
and im not new been reading this post for years or versions of it i just chose not to reply till now.

its a comment on saddam you numbnut and refers directly to points made in other posts in same forum, by compartmentalizing discussion you restrict it and essentially it controls itself. your opinion on the conspiracy shows your lack of understanding of physics, politics and the monster on your doorstep. do some research and youll find that the only three skyscrapers ever destroyed by fire where all on that day and there is a video that shows the thermite pouring out the side of the building. the spectroanalysis of the smoke is inconsistent with the official story.

And trust me, I've done the research. I've researched both sides of 9/11, the conspiracy and the terrorist attacks and the conspiracy theory is just that, a theory. Take a look at anything major that happens in the world, esspecially revolving around terrorism. EVERYTHING is a fucking conspiracy, the Holocaust, the Cold War, 9/11 ect.

888, you, sir, are a POMPOUS ASS. I share a similar opinion as you--I'm an atheist--but I STILL can't stand you!

Here's the deal. Me, Universal Mind, Spoon, Mark (and a few others) have been arguing against Keeper and Ne-Yo (and a few others) for a LONG time. It's spawned more topics in Religion/Spirituality than anything else, period. None of that was getting anywhere--we were arguing in circles, and any time one side made a good point, it was, likely as not, just avoided.
So, we created a single, consolidated and organized thread. We established rules so that it would be a fair debate. Then, we requested that ONLY me (as the spokesman for the atheists) and Ne-Yo (assisted by Keeper and representing the Christians), would post there. That way, nobody could dodge points, and we could keep the thread down to a single page of productive debate without needless and bulky additions by others.
Especially assholes like you.
But hey, we knew that everybody would want to comment and voice their opinion--so we created this thread so that you could voice your opinion without clogging up the thread we're using for the debate.

Ne-Yo and Keeper both keep an eye on this thread as well as the showdown one, so if you really want to voice your opinion, voice it here and we will hear you. But please, let us have our thread to conduct a civilized debate.

Third, the thread wasnt about 9/11. Yes, Bush went into Iraq on false premises, but that wasnt the question. The question was, "Was Saddams death Good, or Bad?" not "Was it good or bad, and post all your awesome 9/11 conspiracy theories!"

the fact you are focussing on his execution is what is bad not the execution itself it will inflame the moslems who are allied to him and will affirm the americans "goodness" whether it was good or bad and if he deserved it or not is irrelevant.
the real discussion needs to be about 911 and the events and situation we are in, you dont understand what its like to be at war pal and having discussion on specific points of propaganda is unhelpful and just what the war machine wants. the fact you have to keep making the addendum to the word conspiracy shows how you think if you look at the opinion poll figures from america it is no longer a theory, and if you ally yourself to america ill see you on the battlefield cos thats where its headed. are you under martial law?

It wasnt about wether it was morally good or not. It was wether it was politically good. Morally? Wrong. Its a life, and life is life. But the question was more or less wether his death will affect the war positivily, or negatively. Not wether he deserved it or not. I believe he deserved it, but it is wrong to take a life except in very certain situations. Thats my belief, but thats not what I was trying to get at with that thread.

The discussion was fine until you came in with your 9/11 rant and conspiracy theories.

And thats why I started the thread!!! Is it so hard to understand? Or do I need to spell it out for you? I stated that I started the thread, for discussion to see everyone elses opinion. I stated that before, and Im saying it again now. Why else do you think I started the damn thread?

And I've also said many times before, Your still avoiding the damn discussion that started this. The real reason this is going on, and you still havnt explained to me how you can manage to veiw a part of the board before that part existed.

i have no idea what sections i view i just read the posts and have been aware of arguments between the bible bashers and the atheists that have been going on for years in lucid forums not just this one, keeper always has something to do with them on the part of the fact he is a bit of a zealot and if you are concened about how when what and why of my internet activity as opposed to the fact wwIII is round the corner then were fucked frankly.

my opinion of the saddam execution is one of wilful indifference as should everyones be. its on the news so you talk about it, its understandable. you have to realise that these minutae (saddams execution) are given to you in order that you do just that and dont see the bigger picture, getting wrapped up in details of a massive conspiracy thats right bbefore your eyes just tilt yer head and you can see it.
