      Panorama on Scientology

Hey, did anyone see this the other day, if not you can watch it on youtube and the bbc's official website, this was some weird stuff, it makes me wonder how people can be so easily led into believing such crap. I'm glad i'm not a scientologist, their belief is riduculous. What did you think of it if you saw it?

I heard it on the radio; I wasn't listening but I couldn't help noticing when the *reporter* lost his rag and started screaming xD. Was a while before I found out what it was actually about, and that it was the reported and not the scientologist!

Scientology isn't new to me. My reactions on learning about it go something like -

haha. wtf? OMG. Now I'm just scared.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm not suprised the reporter got mad when he did. That scientologist who he kept trying to talk to never let him get a word in edgeways. He wouldn't hear the reporters opinions - and the way he kept digging up criminal records of people who opposed scientology was just stupid. What's the point - as soon as someone comes up with an argument against your "religeon" you just find their criminal record and spread it around town? How does that help anything? That just gives me the impression that that scientologist couldn't actually answer the reporters questions.

I think it just proves that Scientology is a load of crap that tries to take your money. I mean, some of those accusations were just criminal in their own rights. And the BBC being followed? That's just stupid. What was worse, was after all that, the Scientology 'agent' says "I have absolutely nothing to hide". Right, that explains all the secrecy, then.

I don't blame the reporter for losing his temper when he did. Anyone who uses the holocaust to promote their own views should be locked up.

Hey, sorry i didn't post a link, heres the link to the video, its in three parts unfortunately.

      Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o79v1D_J5g
      Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqLNp...elated&search=
      Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wske...elated&search=

The bit that annoyed me the most was when that Tommy wouldn't let the journalist speak, the journalist got really angry about it and i'm not surprised, as far as i'm concerned he's got nothing to apologise for.

Damn, that Tommy guy was annoying as hell. Heh, I wonder if the Scientology side of the story video is on you tube. I'd like to watch it. But I might get brainwashed.

Anyone here at DV a scientologist?

      Should this be in R/S?

That's typical of Scientology's followers. Any time you ask a simple question they go on the offensive and become very defensive and elusive. Reminds me of Masonry, except the Masonic organizations usually just clam up.

Makes you wonder why they are so secretive. Yet, they claim to be totally legit.

You're right, it really isn't any different when it comes right down to it. The difference I see is that they tend to get all offended any time some one wants to probe their beliefs. Then, to cover their offense, they go on a rampage.

Disclaimer: I'm sure not every Scientologist is like that but the one's you see in the media tend to be so it gives the entire organization a bad image in the public eye.

Yes, yes it is. Don't get me wrong. All religions are ridiculous. A guy having to die on a cross to make up for sins, walking on water? Haha. A guy on a magic horse flying to heaven? Haha. All nonsense.

But Scientology? I mean, really. It was made by a sci-fi writer. I am astonished people can be That stupid.. maybe they just don't watch youtube enough, to see one of the many documentaries that just rapes Scientology on every of it's silly, lying points.

Well, I don't know the time line to say whether the chicken or egg came first but, a guy named Zecharia Sitchin wrote a series of books (the most famous being "The Twelfth Planet") which - to my knowledge - closely parallels the teachings of Scientology. Sitchin claims all of his material is derived from translations of The Dead Sea Scrolls.

I immediate recognized some of the "alien" names (and other key words) in those videos as being the same I've heard are discussed in Sitchin's books. Though I have not read them personally, I have a friend who has read several from the series and he's told me all about that crap before.

I'm not trying to lead any credibility to the tale but I want to point out the fact that L. Ron Hubbard isn't the only one to have those weird ideas and teachings.

I just can't understand why people can be so gullible, L Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer, doesn't his background speak for itself when it comes to him creating these mad teachings, if you can call them teachings, its all very crazy, i just got linked to this site by my bro and it shows aload of celebrities who are scientologists, its actually shocking to find out some of these celebs actually believe in this stuff. Heres the link http://www.scientology-kills.org/cel...elebrities.htm

For some reason, I was very disappointed to learn of Leah Remini's affiliation.

      L. Ron actually said once, "The best way to make money is to create a religion." This pretty much destroys Scientology's religious status.

I just came across it here:

      http://www.bbcpanorama-exposed.org/w...ocumentary.php

I havn't watched it all, ill watch it later, but the first few mins seem like typical propaganda BS.

Ive also just watched an interesting discussion between Andreas Heldal-Lund, creator of Xenu.net who is anti-scientology, and the guy who runs religiousfreedomwatch.org which is a site used for character assassination against anyone who expresses negativity against the 'cult':

      http://youtube.com/watch?v=4Rg3bm0bOkI

Big respect to Andreas for how well he keeps his cool.

And another video i was pretty shocked at was the following which seems to show a screwed up alliance between scientology and the police force in Clear water Florida at the expense of peoples freedom:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW8eTe_Ank8

Finally how scientology took over the cult awareness network by forcibly bankrupting them and then buying it up:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoASMyv9Cek

I hadn't realised just how crazy scientology was, its no wonder gemany have such an issue with it...
You may want to check out videos buy xenutv on youtube if the subject of scientology interests you:
      http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=XENUTV&p=r

      Sorry for all the links

The thing is, they start you on the most believable things and indocrinate them into your belief system with using using physchological manipulation (this may be why Scientologists are taught to hate every aspect of phsychology) and false evidence and information bainwashing. Then they move to bigger and bigger things, each easier and easier to swallow bacause of the progressively strengthening denial they build into your phsyche and because of the previous indocrinations of other aspects of their belief. By this stage the thought of a giant, talking, traffic-warden eating goldfish as your god with it's fishbowl as Earth could seem plausible.

Such is the genious of Scientology, so to speak.

And it's just plain mind-numbingly scary, thought since other aspects of modern life and religion use this kind of indocrination it's probably just scay because its so very visible.

Oh and using the Holocaust as a tool in this BS is sick.

No. You are thinking this because as a child, we grew up to think that a giant man in the sky who controls everything and knows everything is "normal." Though still a bit weird, when thought about, it still seems not incredibly out there.

      As on loljesus.com....
"Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree."

Really, that's basically it. Because we were grown up to think that is normal (note: even atheists think that, and think scientology is more crazy than christianity), it seems normal, and scientology, because it is DIFFERENT, seems crazy.
