I'm beginning to think that all religions were in their earliest conceptions based on sacred geometry. All the major religions have platonic solids in their main symbols.
The Catholic Cross is a cube. The earliest Christian church found has no crosses, but plenty of cubes.
The Jewish Star of David is a star tetrahedron.
And the Islamic symbol could be either the dodecahedron or the Icosahedron. Not only the star, but the moon lines up nicely on the surface of the dodecahedron with the star occupying the surface face perfectly, depending how you angle the dodecahedron. (And the source symbol, I don't know if that one's accurate, a lot of variations on the net)
Now that leaves only the Octahedron. What religion were the Egytptians?
