The dynamic of arguments favour skeptic versus believer.

I think its quite hard to come up with a reason why Hinduism is better than Christianity or vice versa, and harder still to argue why one monotheistic faith is better than another. Though, its an interesting thing to attempt.

I'd say more specifically that DV's R/S suffers a memetic infection that pervades the internet, collapsing questions of cultural advancement and ethics to two sets of talking points repeated on an endless loop with no outcome but the perpetuation of the dance. If other people don't step in, it's just because the beast already has two backs and it seems rude to interrupt. Me, I've always been a figurative and noetic cockblocker
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

So who is right? Catholics or Protestants? Or Mormons or Jesus Christ UFO Church? Or is some other religion right? Christians, tell us. Tell us why you think the other denominations and religions are wrong. What is it about them you think is just way off?

      Thats beautiful Taosaur.

I remember once I went to a Pagan meeting where an atheist proffesor was speaking. We sat around this bloke in a small circle, hearing him explain all the same old arguments against God, and how to refute arguments in favour of God.

When this was done, someone (it might have been me) asked a question. "Almost all of these arguments are catered towards the monotheistic God of the bible. How would you argue against polytheism?"

"I really don't have to." Was his answer. "Most people in this culture are monotheists, so the most important thing is to prove that the Christian God is impossible."

"But, pretty much everyone in this room is a polytheist. Do you have any arguments against what we believe?"

      He didn't have an answer.

I hear a lot atheists say the reason they are against belief is because of logic and reason and this and that, thus they must be a warrior against it and destroy it

but really, I feel the real issue isn't so much about logic and reason as it is things that christianity has said and done to the individual. Especially, most especially, the topic of hell!!!

thus, monotheistic religions targeted. buddhist and others, not so much. why? well, how many religions are pointing fingers screaming sinners, demonic, satanic, and telling people - they are going to burn forever in hell because they deserve to burn forever in hell?? or "We are the saved, chosen ones...you aren't. im better than you"

this creates problems on a social level, in relationships. from parent to child. to sibling to sibling. to friends to lovers.

how many atheists would care less of hell was never in the picture to begin with? if christianity only had two messages? "God loves you but you must be the one to radiate this love"

there is still pretty of room for argument concerning the concept of an all loving God, but things would still be very different.

With all this talk of rigidity and theist on theist action, I'm beginning to wonder if you guys are even talking about religion at all...
