When I did the experiment a couple days ago I used an alarm clock so that I could get within the 4-5 hour range pretty nicely but it woke me up too much to do SSILD. Is it okay if I do the SSILD after 3 or 6 hours of sleeping?

Timing: I tell the participant to what time to set the alarm. I don't want to talk too much about this here since it might interfere with the experiment... However, if you find it too hard to fall asleep again after the alarm clock woke you up, you can also try the "natural" 3 or 6 hour version. But please still do the evening+night check-in, so I know what time you were performing SSILD, and write a brief comment in the morning why you used a different time point than suggested so I can consider this information in my analyses.
