      Lightbulb Converting DILDs > WILDs

I was wondering if we can convert a DILD to a WILD... We all know if when we are lucid in a dream we are able to wake whenever we want, the way of doing this differs with person, some simple says "Wake me!", others open/close their eyes in the dream and pouf! Wake.

So the question is, if we wake in the middle of a lucid dream, we are certainly in REM so the dream re-entry(DEILD) it's totally possible at least we don't open our eyes...then we can easily convert that DILD to a WILD!

Your certainly are asking "why the hell I was going to do this! A lucid dream is always a lucid dream! ". Well...I always found WILDs more stable, realistic and vivid than DILDs IMHO. Maybe with others persons it's different, I don't know, if you prefer DILDs forget this post.

Another reason to convert a DILD to a WILD it's the SP, scary for some, funny for others (that's my case).

A third strong reason, when you are at the middle of SP, you can easily visualize your dream scene, much more difficult in the middle of a dream...

Anyone has tried this? What do you think? If this seems possible we can always start a thread at research team.

Yes, sounds quite plausible. Not only could this help have more "stable" dreams, it could be an easy way for some people to have their first WILD experience. Good thinking.
      Bollocks.

Nice! It seems that this have some future! You are right, that's another good reason, WILD becomes easier when you have your first one, so this can be a way of that happening . Move to Research team please .

      DILD to WILD Conversion

      Description

The objective is waking purposely at the middle of a lucid dream, when waked you can't open your eyes neither move! It's the same process like if was DEILD, simple wait some seconds for SP. If you don't know how waking I suggest:

      - Open/closing your eyes at the dream
      - Saying loud "I want to wake!"

If you know another good methods feel free to suggest!

The finality is proving that is possible converting a DILD in a WILD by simply waking at the middle of the lucid dream and enter in SP (if you were in a lucid dream you are certainly in REM cycle), nothing more than Dreem Reentry. The reasons for this were already discussed in the posts above.

Don't forget that the DILD is a lucid dream where lucidity was achieved during the dream, the most common way of lucid dreaming.

Feel free to try and post the results here. Don't forget that exist some risk of wasting some LDs...Although I really believe that the success rate it's very high!

Read the Dreamviews DEILD tutorial to understand what dreem reentry is:

I actually have done this.. from a WILD though. This is perfect for those who don't remember their micro-awakening. I would love to be apart of this but the medicine I take makes me sleepy, so I don't have many DILD's anymore. Let me know if I can help through WILD's though.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched

Well, you're not guaranteed to end up in SP. In fact there's a high chance that you won't end up in SP.

Anyway, this isn't really converting a dream. You can't convert one to the other, as I'm sure you realize but I just want to state it for those who are new to the topic of lucid dreaming: This would be two separate lucid dreams. You're just waking yourself up in one, returning to waking life, and then having to WILD into a new lucid. I suppose it's possible to do this but to me it makes more sense to live out your DILD until you wake up, then DEILD after waking. Or to just DEILD after waking from non-lucids. Ideally if you just work on the stabilization techniques, you can fix up your DILDs instead of having to try to master the WILD. If you do both, you're all set, but it's easier to stabilize a dream than it is to master WILDs- even waking up with a relaxed body and the intent to WILD right away. Plus, there'd be the risk that you couldn't DEILD successfully and would have just wasted a DILD... or that you'd just fall asleep, and lose the memory of your DILD

Just some things to point out. For people who are adept at WILDing- or especially for those who are trying to learn to WILD but can get DILDs alright, I think this is a good idea and I may jump on board this project to see if premature awakenings from a DILD can help teach me to WILD (which I suck at). As much as it will hurt to terminate a DILD, you may be on to something. At the very least increased experience with DEILDs that can be utilized after any awakenings, DILD or not.
