Aren't black holes supposed to be just one point of incredible amounts of mass? I guess the gravitational field (from which no one can escape) is used to specify its size. |

Yeah. They measure the size of the event horizon - which is the area around the high-mass object, where things actually begin to get trapped in the gravitational field. However big the event horizon is, is how big the black hole is said to be. |
