      How about installing a "You're welcome" button?

      We need to be able to give a polite nod to the people who thank us for posts, and the site is presently not equipped for it. What can be done about this unfortunate shortcoming?

      If the feature is installed, please make sure that we can keep up with our numbers of You're welcomes and that we can look up who all has told us we are welcome. Thanks.

      This idea does not go far enough. We should have a series of buttons representing a range of commonly made brief remarks which we might want to apply to a particular post. In fact, why don't we implement a series of buttons to represent each letter of the alphabet, so that we can press them in various combinations to form any possible remark.

      Only in one language? That would not be fair. I also don't want to dis Sanskrit or Latin by leaving them out under the ethnocentric position that they are "dead languages". Politeness has no culture.
