You once saw a person in a talk show say something stupid, therefore all talk shows are bs?
I don't even know if talk show is the right word. It's an audio podcast.

At least according to a recent study.

Seriously? You really think your SUBJECTIVE experience trumps a scientific study?

And it's effects are not similar to caffeine at all.
Sugar gives you energy. For a very short time. (Doesn't = hyperactive)
Caffeine stimulates your Central Nervous System.

I believe he's actually serious in saying that personal, subjective experience trumps controlled study. But it'd be good if you found a link, just in case.

Indeed, sugar gives you energy, but it is not like how caffeine keeps you awake.

YES! Which is why I said SIMILAR. Sugar DOES give you energy, and its a roller coaster downwards after that. I've seen it in myself, and so many other people.

Sugar is absorbed fast thus it gives you quick energy burst. This has most of the time nothing to do with hyperactivity. Of course you feel a bit down after your bloodsugar is going down again, but it should not be mixed up with anything with word "hyper" in it.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

Here's what I suggest: Wait for the Dr. Oz episode to repeat itself, watch the entire thing and find out why he said sugar doesn't cause hyperactivity in children. Dr. Oz is a p smart guy and I'm sure he had some neat things to say on the topic.

Then we can all stop talking about it here.

      Penises.

PS It mentions sugar in the wiki article about hyperactivity.

I've never noticed myself feeling any more hyper after consuming sugar. It tastes good, that's all. And since I've been older than 13 or so it's made me feel sick when I eat too much of it. I've always assumed I just personally didn't get sugar highs for some reason even though most people do. Since it's such 'common knowledge' that sugar makes people hyper.

To most kids it might not cause hyperactivity, but it made me very jittery when I was a kid if I had one too many pixy sticks. I'd be "bouncing off the walls" as my mom would say. Sure, scientifically it might not cause "hyperactivity" but on occasion it made me pretty wild (and many other children I know/babysat.) Even now if I eat a few airheads or high-in-sugar foods, I definitely feel a sugar rush.

Placebo. People were always telling you while growing up, "Don't eat too much sugar, you'll be bouncing off the walls!" so it happens.
