beep beep beep beep beep beep beep

for the last three days there's been an annoying been at my condo and it's been driving me nuts. It's very quiet and happens every 30 seconds. I narrowed it down to the smoke detectors on the staitway outside.

i hate it, and it's causing me to sleep with a pillow over my head

sorry, i just had to vent

You should report to your apartment manager that the battery in the smoke detector is dying. If he or she doesn't promise to have it fixed right away, you can inform them that faulty and/or dead smoke detectors represent a violation of the building safety code. Or, if that doesn't work, take a broom handle and bludgeon the smoke detector until you knock out the dying battery

If my neighbors ever got one of those things, I'd dump an entire pet store full of crickets in their apartment in retaliation. That thing is sick. Just sick

smoke detectors? no problem! Just head on out there with an ice pick and dismantle the thing. If anyone asks you could blame it on those pesky mosquitos.

      maybe poor water over it?

      hehe

well, i think the sounds went away. It was probably coming from one of the neighbors, who was out on vacation or something

Yours are probably different, but I know my smoke detectors come out pretty easily, you just unplug them! Then you could display them in some scary way like hanging from nooses or impaled on pikes so the landlords get the message.

I'm glad the problem fixed itself though, I love when that happens!

yeah, the ones we have outside also double up as lights, so they'd be pretty tricky to take of

nah, it'll be easier, just more expensive for the owner and more necessary not to get caught!

I like the annnoying sound generator thing idea. I seriously think I might get one for my annoying neighbors. I have a suspicioun that they did something to our lawn too now, as there is a huge yellow rectangle on most of the lawn, but past the boundaries, everything is a beautiful green. Sadly, as the lawn is "common area", there isn't much of anything we can do ourselves, so even if we could prove they did it (whihc is unlikely), unless we took measures into our own hands (like an annoying sound genenrator), we'd have to have the village management deal with them.

PlayWithFire, I am sure you will find an evil, and sneaky way to get back at them. Have fun. Get vengence. Then preach peace, because peace is what we really need around here, on this spherical rock we call earth.
