Gantz in itself is a rather deep commentary on society and the self-worship intigrated in individualistic societies like Japan or the United States. Throughout there are many moral choices made, and it shows the dramatic change of a former horny selfish guy to a caring and responsible man. Also all of this is accomplished in 26 episodes. It takes bleach over 75 episodes to produce the basic story theme of "save a pretty girl" and "get stronger to fight strong enemies." Too much like Dragon-ball Z. Just one man's opinion
