Last Night I dreamt I went to Manderley again. It seemed to me I stood by the iron gate leading to the drive, and for a while I could not enter for the way was barred to me. There was a padlock and a chain upon the gate. I called in my dream to the lodge-keeper, and had no answer, and peering closer through the rusted spokes of the I saw that the lode was uninhabited. No smoke came from the chimney, and the little lattice windows gaped forlorn. Then, like all dreamers, I was possessed of a sudden with supernatural powers and passed like a spirit through the barrier before me.

      Edit

Seriously Grod fuck off with that picture.

      Just did the test again.

      Your speed was: 55wpm.

You made 1 mistake, your mistake is shown in bold text:

I was very glad that Mr Attlee described my speeches in the war as expressing the will not only of parliament but of the whole nation. Their will was resolute and remorseless and, as it proved, unconquerable. It fell to me to express it, and if I found the right words you must remember that I have always earned my living by my pen and by my tongue. It was a nation and race dwelling all round the globe that had the lion heart. I had the luck to be called upon to give the roar.

I type with both hands. Default position on A.S.D.F/J.K.L.; but it has gradually evolved into something like A.W.E.F/,.L.;.<Shift> it seems.

I hate typing speed tests...they're so different and give such varying results that all I can really say is that I type at 100+ WPM.

Aye, I always use the number pad instead of the top number row. I mean, as long as you need to type a long number, more than one or two digits, it justifies picking up your right hand and using the number pad swiftly and blindly or half-blindly.

I usualy type with my 2 pointer fingers and occasionaly use my middle finger to hit some keys.

      Your speed was: 35wpm.

You made 2 mistakes, your mistakes are shown in bold text:

FOR some years past a rising tide of lecturers and literary men from England was washed upon the shores of our North American continent. The purpose of each one of them is to make a new discovery of American. They come over to us travelling in great simplicity, and they return in the ducal suite of the Aquitania. They carry away with them their impressions of America, and when they reach England they sell them. This export of impressions has now been going on so long that the balance of trade in impressions is all disturbed. Americans and Canadians have been too generous in this giving away of impressions.

I'm so unused to looking at the screen well I type I probably type much faster then that on average I'd probably get at least 40 if I practiced and my typing speed well looking at the key board is probably over 50.

here's me not looking at the keyboard I have to slow down to turn off the caps lock a few times and reposition my hands over the correct keys as to not totaly fail horribly.

      Your speed was: 38wpm.

You made 43 mistakes, your mistakes are shown in bold text:

You made 2 mistakes, your mistakes are shown in bold text:

AFTER having been twice driven back by heavy southwestern gales, Her Majesty's ship Beagle, a ten-gun brig, under the command of Captain Fitz, R. N., sailed from Devonport on the 27th of December, 1831. The object of the expidition was to complete the survey of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, commenced under Captain King in 1826 to 1830, to survey the shores of Chile, Peru, and of some islands in the Pacific, and to carry a chain of chronometrical measurements round the World. On the 6th of January we reached Teneriffe, but were prevented landing, by fears of our bringing the cholera.
I typed it then copy pasted it once I started the clock.

I find that that stupid test gives me fuck loads of punctuation that slows me down and it uses words that are a bitch to try and type out.

I touch-type, but not very fast, and I tend to make mistakes if I'm not concentrating. Around 60-70 WPM.

I've started a touch typing course (not really a course, just like a free trial program on the computer)

      It's hard and I keep making mistakes, and I'm only on the asdf jkl;
