      The IRL game

This game has 5 simple steps:

      1. Click that little x at the top right of the screen
      2. Turn off your computer
      3. Get up and walk away
      4. Go outside
      5. Come back and report your findings

Prizes go to anybody who reaches number 4 but the real winners never make it to number 5.

Firstly, upon clicking the X, my browser disappeared. "That's strange. I can't see the internet. That's never happened before..." I said. "I wonder what 'turn off your computer' does?" Upon discovering the appropriate Start Menu command (ironic?) I was cast into darkness, as the glow of the monitor is the only light down here and I've been staring at it for seven hours straight. I walked into walls for twenty minutes until my eyes adjusted. Upon more searching I found a strange upwards ascending array of small floors with a blinding light at the top. I began to climb them but stopped seven steps up as my legs have atrophied from sitting at my chair for so long. I lay there recovering my strength when I heard strange voice-like sounds from the new world above which were voices. Frightened by the threat of potential face-to-face human contact, I attempted to stand to escape. Failed by my leg's severely diminished muscle mass, I used my fingers' incredible strength (from the typing, you see) to crawl, very painfully, down the steps.

A few days later I made it back to my room. It was a horrible experience that I'm never going to try again.

As you can see, this is a very challenging contest. I predict that very few people will make it and some may very well die in the attempt.

But it is rumored that there is much treasure to be found in the outside world! Rumors have even sprung up about the existence of a creature named a "girl" although they are only rumors and cannot be taken seriously. From my experiences on the interwebz, all "girls" are actually guys in disguise!

That's shopped. Yep, the reflections are all wrong. Definitely a shop.

o_O; Is this possible? I've often surmised that the internet could close, but to see someone experience it...

No, it's not lies. I had experienced this unusual way of life last week. It was weird at first but I got used to it.

Mark, you'd make a great novel writer. The kind of writing Stephen King does for example.

Arby, how do you expect anyone with OCD to get past step one?
