Why are some people so afraid of a female vice president?

Palin is vastly under-qualified. I watch CNN about 4 - 5 hours a day whilst I work and when it comes down to specific questions from her campaign staff about what issues she will personally tackle and HOW she will...(trying to get them to be specific) all they do is go back to saying how much more qualified Palin is than Barack Obama (meaning they don't answer the question). Campbell Brown vs. Trevor (Trevor being a representative of the McCain/Palin camp) being one of those times. I literally laughed my ass off because Campbell kept telling Trevor to get off Obama and tell her exactly how Palin can do what she says she can do...he still went with the "Well I think that Palin is much more qualified than Obama etc." line. I flipped out of my chair. This went on for about 6 more times until Campbell Brown eventually gave up. Palin's a joke. A political stunt thrust into the media spotlight to rally up those 18 million Hilary supporters. And it appears to have been working...until now. With the imminent demise of AIG, Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Wall Street etc. More people are starting to turn away from "The woman whose foreign policy experiences run to the extent that she can see Russia from her house'". and more toward the actual issues that MATTER. According to the latest polls on CNN, newscasters have weighed in on the polls again and have reached a definite conclusion that the McCain/Palin media-hyped chirade has halted. Obama is back up on the polls and it's predicted if he can keep at it at this rate...he'll take home the win in November. Edit: btw, why is this in SB?

Perhaps Jeff covered this, I didn't read his post. But, I have a question for you Universal Mind. Why would McCain criticize Obama so harshly about his lack of experience, yet choose a woman who ran a state with less population than a lot of cities in the U.S., and has less experience than Obama himself? The only true reason I can muster up is that he wanted to get a female to try and sway the Clinton voters his way. A truly cowardice act if you ask me. Perhaps Obama thought he would win with Clinton by his side, a black president and a female president, make history twice. But, perhaps Obama doesn't think he needs to suck her tit to win the election? I don't know though, that's just my opinion.

The only true reason I can muster up is that he wanted to get a female to try and sway the Clinton voters his way. Exactly. In my option, in his own way, HE'S being sexist. He thinks he's being smart by luring in the Clinton voters, of which the majority were female (I think. Don't quote me on that). He has this mindset that women are mindless idiots that will support or vote for anyone with the same reproductive organs. Whether this is true or not, I don't know, but that's how it seems to me. To be quite honest, I don't think either candidate is qualified for the seat in the White House. Maybe because I'm not getting all the facts, even thought I sat through both Party speeches. She tried to ban books, and thats just unnacceptable. And she has a family to raise. I think it's pretty clear that Palin is undesirable for VP, not because she has a vagina but because she's a lying incompetent and the fundiest of fundamentalist Christians. At any rate, Snowy is correct. Retarded is not a politically correct word. Special needs, mentally disabled, etc. ARE politically correct. The word "retarded" is to special needs people as "whitey/darkie" is to caucasians/afro-american's. The overt use of the word "retarded" in Ben Stiller's movie Tropic Thunder is one of the reasons it didn't do so well and one of the reasons why Dreamworks was forced to take down the simple jack website.
