I'm writing a report on the lack of the general population's interest in reading books (particularly America). All too often, I hear my peers bag on books, as if blatantly admitting to ignorance is the cool thing to do in today's culture.

I just want to get some general figures.

What I'm referring to is 200+ page books
Audiobooks are acceptable--movies are not.

I understand that not everyone has unlimited time to read books, especially if they're slow readers. but here are a couple sites to free audiobooks. Please feel free to add more sites.
