Yes, thank God for the gift of fart pain. I feel the same about canker sores. |

It is useless to our survival that we have pain receptors inside of us own digestive systems. All it does is give you pain that you can do fuck all about. It would hinder an organism to be in the agony of either excessive wind or a foreign body in the intestines. In fact, reflexes are all we need in this situation because there is no evolutionary advantage to consciously taking care of the problem. Even if we can do it now with medical science, the transitionary stages would have been useless to an organism. It would simply be withering in constant pain whilst predators were eating its children. |

Are you saying,
that all of this was created,
BY A MONKEY??????

Your satire just made my day. |

The Emperor Wears No Clothes: The book that everyone needs to read."If the words "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" don't include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn't worth the hemp it was written on."- Terence McKenna
Maybe populations that farted too much eventually died of bad smell, so humans were naturally selected to feel pain in the digestive system. |

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.
Idol, you make the funniest threads. |

Things are not as they seem
The collective unconscious: In the last few generations, we discovered two invisible forces, electricity and electro magnetic (radio) waves. No one believed they existed a few hundred years ago. In this generation, we are going to discover and confirm a new invisible force that I call the collective unconscious mind. It is the force of nature, or part of the force of nature, that gives us continuity from one life to another. Without it, there could be no evolution. |

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” - Albert Einstein
Pain receptors in the digestive system are good because they teach us lessons about what to and what not to eat and drink. Without those receptors, there would be no Alka Seltzer or Tums, which neutralize stomach acid when it gets too extreme. Also, I would continue to have soft drinks for breakfast. My pain receptors have taught me many important lessons. |

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

The fact that we feel pain does not disprove evolution. |

Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody hell, all those liberals and intellectuals and smooth-talkers...
We should have done this as men. Not with fire.
R/S thread belongs in R/S subforum (or at least Extended Discussion)... how did this wind up here? |
