      Ok firstly, this thread makes me chuckle coz I thought exactly the same thing about Seal, but the whole "black people have gotta act black to show they're proud to be who they are blah blah blah" is just stupid.

      I do think a lot of black people feel pressured to "keep it real" and be "black" even when as individuals they have a very broad range of interests and tastes.

      Am I right?

      Grew up in Africa... saw it there even.

      What has a South African Zulu got in common with a "black" guy (who's actually of mixed decent, as are 99% of us) from Inglewood? Not much.

      Well BET I think has painted black people in a horrible light so, no I don't think it's bad. It just.. is what it is. Just like you were surprised to find out a black man sang that song, a lot of people are also surprised when they hear an articulate black person.

      On a totally unrelated note, Seals wife is very beautiful.
