      Oversleeping

I have read a few posts where people seem to have better lucidity and dream recall when they over sleep, but for me it seems the oposite. Last night I went to bed at 10:00 and woke up at 5:00 to try a wbtb and remembered one dream. Tried the wbtb and failed then woke up at 11:30 the next day so I got 13:30 mins of sleep. I couldnt remember any dreams and this has happened the few other times I over slept.
      any explination?

You aren't trying hard enough to remember your dreams. I've been oversleeping all week now and have had no problem remembering my dreams.

Hmmm I gess Its just that I put the same amount of effort into remembering my dreams when I oversleep and when I dont, but from now on I will try harder.

This makes some sense. If you woke up long enough to commit the dream to memory (or to paper), you probably would not be able to sleep in so long. You would have to work to go back to sleep, which is hard to do in the late morning.

The longest I've slept is 14 hours (I was ill though). Although the last two hours was mostly dozing in and out of consciousness. I definetley remember my dreams better if I oversleep. I tend to oversleep on weekends but have really long, awesome dreams

Young people need more sleep when they go through puberty. So while it may seem they sleep too long, they only get the sleep they need. Sleep because of lack of sleep is not really too much sleep. It seems that way.

But I don't like sleeping 12 hours a day, it's like I'm sleeping half my day away.

Hi dear member's of this forum. I want to tell you that this is a general thing which have been told by every physicion in the world that just sleep 6 hours daily. It gives better relief's from pain and all relax your body completely. If you gone to oversleep than it's become problem for you. Have pain in your body and muscle's also.

I'm almost certain that 6 hours of sleep is not enought sleep for the average person.

I heard it was 8. But it can vary from person to person. Probably.

Last night, I did WBTB and got a total of I think 9.5 hours of sleep. I woke up at 12:30, took a shower. It was 3 by the time I was finished writing down all my dreams. In other words, I remembered a lot of dreams.
