      Junk food = Bad sleep?

I saw a documentary a few years back about a guy who was sleep walking and talking many times a night, I'm not sure but when he stopped eating junk food, started working out and meditating or something, he slept way better.

I've had nightly hallucinations and been sleep walking my entire life. I wake up and do something, thinking I'm 100% awake only I'm not.

I had a Big Tasty and co last night right before bed and I didn't sleep well at all.

      To my two questions.

1: If you eat junk food alot, do you get worse sleep? I get all the vitamins and minerals, salt and water I need from pills and food so it's no question of deficiency

2: For anyone who wakes up very easily and several times a night, and/or is sleep walking alot, have you tried changing your diet so that you get more quality sleep?

I saw the same or similar documentary aswell, think it was similar, because this man was constantly sleepwalking to eat more food.

      1. I eat junk food A LOT, and I do eat it right before going to sleep aswell and it did not ever impact on my sleeping, dreaming or LDing.

      2. I used to sleepwalk a lot when younger, whilst now I hardly ever sleepwalk at all, whilst my eating habits never changed. Seeing that despite my junk food eating habits I have no problems sleeping whatsoever, I never tried to change my diet, tho I think it would be an interesting thing to do and see the results it yields, if it yields any.

Generally it's not junk food that causes bad sleep but malnutrition and the problem with eating junk food is that most people don't eat other food to get all the proper nutrients our body needs.
Usually junk food is packed with sugars, salts, saturated fats and flavoring making it next to impossible to not go over your daily limit.
There are a lot more variables included however like what time do you eat, do you get enough exercise, do you eat other food etc.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that junk food causes sleep walking but it certainly has the potential to cause bad sleep.
Junk food is known to be a common cause of low concentration, low energy levels, diabetes, weight gain, high blood pressure, heart disease and sleep apnea. If your body doesn't feel good your not going to sleep good, some people can handle it, some people can't.
I would suggest not to take much pills for nutrition, it's always best to get them from natural products and it's not hard, it only takes a little fruit and veg a day.

In today's society, the most probable cause is drugs. Just because Dr. Pillpopper says that the prescription amphetamines he's giving little Johnny don't cause sleep disturbances, that doesn't mean he's right, or even knows what he's talking about at all.

If a person's body is overloaded with toxins from not eating very well or keeping up with water drinking which causes them to have a tough time staying warm under blankets, Will they move more and curl up to try to gain warmth, Causing them to toss and turn a lot, Causing less sleep?
