      Hooray! Sleep!

Aha! I`m back! Of course, anyone who remembers me probably isn't on here anymore, it's been quite a while...
      Well, anyway.
The last few things I posted on this forum before disappearing for months were me complaining about my insomnia, right?
Well, I've finally got some help.
I went to the doctor about it, and she told me to try to get into routines, don't read before bed, light incense, etc.
Of course, none of that worked.
It turned out my piano teacher's son had the same problem as me, with the same results. She introducted me to my saviour.
      Melatonin.
Am I the only one who's never heard of this before? Because it's awesome. It's the stuff in turkey that makes you drowsy. The horomone that makes you sleep. Apparantly, my brain produces little or none at all. But you can buy melatonin pills/strips/whatnot at drugstores, and the whole thing is completely natural. So I`m allowed to use it since it's not technically 'Sleep drugs'.

If anyone out there has trouble getting to sleep, try this stuff, it saved my life!
When I close my eyes it looks like this...

It's normally perscribed for jet-lag I think (though I don't know does it work or not). They think it's the brain hormone that regulates the your body clock, so maybe that's why it worked for you.

The stuff in turkey is tryptophan. But yeah melatonin's all the rage right now. It's the stuff that our bodies make naturally when we are in darkness. It's also an antioxidant. It does work well in treating some types of primary insomnia and for others it may work as a placebo. Hey, if you sleep, what's the difference?
