I don't think a human head would be heavy enough to completely cut off circulation to a hand. But maybe if someone were drunk or otherwise incapacitated they would not wake when a body part started to die due to lack of oxygen. It's not impossible. And I've certainly woken on occasion unable to move a numb arm. |

Was he in the US or in a foreign country at the time? In some countries they cut off hands as punishment for certain crimes, such as stealing. He might have done something like that and not wanted anyone to know. (Not saying he did, just suggesting a theory.) |
