Not able to fall back asleep after recording first dream

Ok ,i quit smoking weed 2 weeks ago and have done this before,i know it greatly improves dream recall and the only way IMO to have a DILD

I realize the initial few days might mess with your sleeping patterns,i say might because it never really did in the past for me.

(not that there werent a few side effects so those that think its not physically addictive..think again)

but the past 4 -5 days ,after waking even only a few minutes to jot down my dream it takes me an hour or more to fall back asleep,it seems like my mind is racing.

I am doing the relaxation techniques ,they get me close but not asleep more just really relaxed lol.

last night after my first dream i just said fuck it(didnt get up to record it) turned over went back to sleep.I slept like a baby all night,i don't recall no dreams at all (including first one).

I have not been overly tired during the day or more irratable than usual but this is probably not a good thing as im probably only getting 5 to 6 hrs of sleep a night

Any comments would be appreciated im going back to bed lol (note the time of post) sheeesh... been awake since 12 midnight

when the full realization that I am dreaming washes

over me its like the gift of a superpower or a new world where anything is possible

I recommend waking meditation, obviously your mind has a lot it wants to get to your conscious self. Sit quietly for awhile before bedtime and just watch your thoughts until they dissipate / slow down, and then go to sleep. It might not happen over night, but this should help.

if you find yourself laying in bed and you cant sleep, get out. dont associate your bed with staring at the cieling. that was my biggest mistake. it was almost as if i got into a cycle (I had something similar to insomnia i guess) where id just sit in bed "well here it goes again". if ya find yourself unable to sleep, read about something. try figuring out photoshop, or read about music theory. try something boring! that'll knock ya out!
