Thread: Suggestions for Task of the Year 2018

Can you believe the year's almost over already? With 2018 just around the corner, we can start talking about one of the more fun things we do around the forum - the Task of the Year! But we need your help for suggestions.

• Suggest 6-7 tasks, all of which share a common theme. You can choose whatever theme you desire, no need to follow the theme from other users, but keep your 6-7 tasks within a theme/topic.
• Each task should be a bit more involved than normal Tasks of the Month - they should each be a few steps/actions long, and demonstrate a strong awareness and control of the dream.
• For inspiration, you can check some of our previous TOTY's here: 2017 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008

Make your suggestions here. Anyone who gets their wings for December will have the chance to vote from the suggestions.

Since many of you who practice lucid dreaming watch anime i would like to be something anime related

The theme i suggest is (Anime)

Tasks :

1. Go to any anime world of your own choice !

2. Summon any anime character of your own choice !

3. Transform in to an anime character of your own choice !

4. Use any anime super power the more the better !

5. Have a epic fight with an anime character !

6. Create an anime HAREM !!! (make sure to share the experience in as much detail as possible )

7. Transform in to an anime creature make sure it not a human!

that's all i hope its fun enough

Gonna go ahead and bump this, now that there's less than a month before the new TOTY.

The monument. Crumble a mountain, leaving a sculpture or statue of your choice.

(if you're a very nice person, make sure to give the local fauna a heads up)

The next one is a little stupid maybe, but I'll post it because I would love if some of you did it and told me about it even if it doesn't get you any wings.

Visit LighrkVaders painting. Though fascinated with dreams I never heard about lucid dreaming till I was in my late teens, and I didn't decide to learn it till I was almost 20. But I've had this picture of a boy looking a lot like me, flying through a dreamscape in his pajamas hanging in my bedroom ever since I was born. Go there, and explore the area...report back.

Those are all decent suggestions for Task of the Month, but they seem a little too simple/vague for Task of the Year. Again, I recommend looking at some of the previous TOTY's I linked in the original post to get an idea of what we're looking for.

I suggest a theme of rescuing damsels (or dudes) in distress.

space UFO-Somebody in a flying saucer in outer space has been abducted by aliens. Rescue them from the flying saucer, banish or destroy it, and return the person to their home.

ocean boat- Somebody is on a sinking boat and dropped their waterproof camera in an area where there are hungry sharks nearby. Fix their boat or summon a new boat for them, go to the bottom of the ocean to retrieve their camera, and give it back to them.

desert car-Somebody's car broke down on a road in a desert. Find them, get their car running, ask them where they were going, and use any means necessary to to get both them and their new car there.

city fire-Somebody is trapped in a burning building. Rescue them and take them to their family waiting outside. Put out the fire and fix the building.

jungle-Somebody exploring a jungle for to study jaguars has been tied up by natives. Free them, escape the natives and help them to find a jaguar for them to study. Summon a helicopter and pilot for them so they have an easy way to get home.

snowy mountain cave-Somebody who was on a hike is being held in the hand of a hungry abominable snow monster. Find the cave on the snowy mountain where the monster is, and free the hiker from the monster. Escape from the cave and use any means necessary to close the entrance to trap the monster. Take the rescued to the top of the mountain so they can enjoy the view.

river rapids-Somebody lost in a forest has fallen into a raging river which is headed towards a big waterfall. Save the person before they die and reunite the person with the friends they were separated from.

I would suggest something around the theme of terraforming and creating life:

Solar System - Find a solar system in which you want to place your planet (can be our own system) and start creating the planet with space derbies;
Solid ground - Make the planet round and add water;
Atmosphere - Add flora to your planet and create it's atmosphere (so that the sky stops being all black);
Satellites - Add one or more natural satellites to your planet (or even some rings);
Life - Create life in your planet (which does not need to be an existing species);
Civilisation - Create intelligent life to your planet, which can create civilisations (there can be multiple intelligent species);
Returning and Contact - Return to your created planet and report the evolution of your planet and it's inhabitants civilisation; Communicate with them;

Exploring the planet in intermediate steps is encouraged and not restricted to the Returning and Contact phase.
