I would think put your hard drive in another computer then transfer your files to your new computer via flashdrive. You may just need to have a tech person do it unless you want to borrow someone else's computer. |

Is their a way that I can buy an external hard drive, then have a techie' transfer all of my files to that external hard drive? |

No need. My dad bought a really neat device a while ago, I'm sure you can find one if you look. It's some sort of sleeve that you can connect a regular old hard drive into, then connect that to a USB port. I'm not sure where he got it and I haven't actually seen it, but he was telling me all about it and I think it only cost him around $30. I'm actually going to be doing this soon with a hard drive from an old desktop computer of mine that just went a while ago. |

What you're looking for is a hard drive caddy/enclosure. They come in a variety of sizes for different hard drives. |
