They have already brought out another one. A new and improved version!
It has 2 cameras, which is revolutionary, if you disregard the iPhone 4.

It's got an ALL NEW DESIGN! Can you tell? No, of course you can't.

They made it thinner and that's about it. But it's still bigger than an iPod touch.

So far as I can tell, they have added a "Smart cover". Which they could have sold separately to use with the old ones. (Mind you it is pretty fucking ingenious) Apple - Smart Cover - Cover up, stand up, and brighten up your iPad.

For some reason they boast iOS 4, the operating system, which has nothing to do with the actual big iPod touch.

All I can say is.... Being a designer for Apple must be the single easiest job in the world.

I have an iPad. I really don't think the iPad 2 is that great. It's basically an iPad with 2 cameras, some Mac software, and a new look. Nothing really new. I can get all the same apps on my regular iPad and I can use iMovie on my mac computer. I already have a regular case that works fine and my iPad works fine. If I want to video chat with someone i'll just open up my laptop.

That's the thing about Apple. Their design is cool now, but it just reminds me of those "utopian" futures where everything is sleek and shiny and.... dull and boring.
But it seems to be exactly the way things are going. But even if it isn't, they can't do anything amazing with their designs because of the style that it is. They would have to change their whole image to come up with something new. However, the problem is that their image is what makes them so popular.

hahahaha I like the ending. And completely agree about the design, I think I said that in the OP. I don't understand how the can say it's an all new design. It's EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME!

New processor, new graphics card, thinner, lighter.

If you spend a single moment of your life caring about this, I weep for you.

My friend is trying to sell his iPad with case for $450. And of all the things he could use that money for (he plays guitar, keep in mind), he's doing it to buy an iPad 2.

Which they probably had waiting and ready to go to market when the iPad 1 came out.

Now it's literally just a cheap macbook air without a keyboard.

I think we need to go back to computers with big, blinking lights, like in 60s sci-fi movies.

Apple crushes creativity they actually check over the software that gets developed for the mac OS. There are good things and bad things about it but if you look at the iPad, you can't really even do anything to customize it. You are very limited. This is why you would have to jail break it to do something as simple as a changing background or changing the carrier name to something like your name instead of having it be the time and "iPad"

On the other hand, that stops most idiots from screwing them up.
But they could just have a setting you could change to do all that customisation.
