Getting a New Gaming Laptop- Recs?

I'm going to be getting a new gaming laptop soon, mostly for moderately high-end gaming and particularly live-streaming. Atm, I'm looking at this:

      DELL Alienware 17 ANW17-2136SLV

      NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 3 GB GDDR5
      Intel Core i7 4710HQ (2.50GHz)
      8GB Memory 1TB HDD
      17.3" 1920 x 1080
      Windows 8.1 64-Bit
      16.93" x 11.49" x 1.35" 8.33 lbs.

      DELL Alienware 17 ANW17-2136SLV Gaming Laptop Intel Core i7 4710HQ (2.50GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M 3 GB GDDR5 17.3" Windows 8.1 64-Bit - Newegg.com

It's gotten a lot of good reviews and seems to be what I'd need. Price-wise I'd prefer to stay under 1500 if possible, and it seems like the best option for my buck.

Gaming laptops.. I went through this same thing. Only my budget was around 450$ XD. Then again, I never really needed it for any resource heavy games and it works the games I want excellently.

That seems pretty nice to me. i7 is definitely the kind of processor you want. I'm no expert on processors but that one doesn't looks decent. The clock speed looks below average for a 1,400$ laptop, but it shouldn't cause any problems.

It really depends on the games you want to play. Though the one you think is good looks all around nice to me.

      Thanks for the input

Yeah, im not gonna be playing crazy-intensive games all the time, but I'd like to be able to play at least most current games at a decent fps. And I know, desktop>>>>laptop, but I need the mobility and the portability is a huge sell for me. I currently have an ASUS gaming laptop and it works fine, but the processor (i5) isn't enough for what I need it for now.

      What makes you think this?

Be careful when upgrading because of the processor. Most of the times the CPU is not a bottle neck, the GPU is. Of course there are exceptions, like if you're planning on playing supreme commander 5v5 or something like that, but they are few. Besides simulations and some RTSes (in some situations), I can't think of many games which would warrant more than an i5.
