THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Which one do you think most people who use open source or have open source peddled to them care about more:- Free as in speech. "I can edit the program and contribute something to the open source model. This quite possibly requires me to know a programming language, have a lot of time on my hands to develop and also happen to be one of the (relatively few) people in the world who are able to code without making a mess of it."
- Free as in free beer. "I can get this for free? Yeehaw, adios Windows!"
While the Free Software Foundation insists it's only the first one that open source actually is, the second one seems to come hand-in-hand a lot. But I wonder if Linux uptake would be as it is if they were making people pay for it?
