      Permissions

I'm trying to delete this program called UltimateZip 2007 but these two pesky .dll's are hanging around. When I try to delete them, it tells me "You need permission" ....so I click OK and it will tell me to try again. WTF. I'm root admin.

Please help me get rid of these.

Get an Ubuntu Live CD and locate the hard drive. Linux doesn't know anything about Windows permissions (I think) so you can delete the dlls if you want.

Wow at first I thought you meant the C language.

I'm way too addicted to C.

Try booting into safe mode/recovery mode or whatever it's called. That will mostly guarantee that only a minimal required amount of dlls will be loaded.

If you don't want to use an Ubuntu Live CD (I'm not even sure it can mount ntfs in read-write properly), there is a windows equivalent you can get:

      http://ubcd4win.com/

This has saved my ass in the past, when I needed to back up stuff after my windows system files got corrupted. It requires that you have a copy of the WinXP CD, but I'm sure that won't be a problem.

Yeah, I already solved the problem.

      Safe mode did it.
