      If I were wanting to become a mod, it would be because I felt I could improve the forum and help contribute to the community.

      I'd delete spam threads and whisper, "Sakujo", as each one is eliminated.

      Then pass righteous judgement over forum arguments and my word would be law because the mod controls the mob.

      And then...I would be a Kira god mod of this new world forum!

      If you want to be a mod...first strive to be a Dream Guide. That's usually how it goes.

      Let me shed some Light Yagami on this topic. The original poster, Jerad, probably belongs to or has belonged to gaming forums in which members, as part of the subculture, often seek mod or admin status for the feeling of power. The DV forums, by contrast, are meant to help people improve their lucid dreaming skills, not to give people practice speaking l33t. As Ynot said, if you're desperate to become an administrator, your best bet is probably to buy out the site.
