I find myself wanting to do some basic video editing (cut/copy/paste for the most part) of movies from my phone and digital camera, but have no software for it. Does anyone know some decent freeware? |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
Windows Movie Maker comes with Windows, I think, and it works quite well as a simple editor. I use it for my juggling videos, it's very easy to trim, arrange, and add music to things. There are also some useful effects like slowdown, speedup, etc. |

I don't believe that windows movie maker will encode in H.264. |

H.264 is the best video codec out there, it makes the videos smaller and have better quality. All the big players in video (except for Microsoft) use it (Apple for both their store and editing software, Pixar, Youtube, Redtube, Flash...) |
