- xsplash in place of usplash (x now starts very early in the boot process, this coupled with KMS makes for a very nice, plymouth style, boot process
- Unification of ALSA & pulseaudio controls into single GUI interface
- a whole heap of GUI changes

Oooooh, pulseaudio is integrated now? That makes me a happy panda!

I need to totally reinstall Ubuntu, actually. I didn't give it enough hard drive space because I was limited on drive space when I installed it, but now that I have an external drive... Booyah! Repartitioning time.

I actually ran into some problems with that in Florida this year. Trying to record with Audacity in Ubuntu, and it ran out of disk space in the Linux partition halfway through a speech. I wound up having to have the speaker re-deliver the first half of the message so I could get it recorded. Still wound up corrupting the last five minutes somehow, when I put the parts together in Windows.
