I can't seem to relax when WILDing

Well i have recently started attempting to do WILD's again after a very long time from having a break from doing WILD's.

But when i wake up and walk out of bed to turn my alarm off when it wakes me up for the WILD attempt, i just can't relax.

I go back to bed as soon as i turn the alarm off, but when i am trying to sleep my body is restless and i always have this constant urge to move.

And the light from outside of my house is annoying (i have blinds, but it never helps that much).

Any ideas on how i can get rid of this problem?

Well for the light problem you should get a sleepmask. For the relaxing problem I recommend tensing all the muscles in your body from your head down to your toes. Then just let them relax and don't think, but don't fall asleep! You can also look up "Relaxing techniques" on Google!

oh sorry! I didn't read your full post that you were trying to relax WHILE WILDing. I thought you meant right before. I usually just try to think of a lot of different relaxing things like a stream of water running down mountains.

I know what you mean. I've just started to try WILDing myself, and I'm having similar issues: I wake myself up, get up long enough to go to the restroom and get a drink, then go back to bed. Problem for me is, even with barely waking up, I can't seem to make my body want to go back to sleep. Plus, I can't find the motivation at 4:00 in the morning to say still and focus near as easily as I can, for example, when I'm first going to bed. However, when I am just going to sleep, it takes much longer to do so. Kind of a catch-22.

If you feel antsy, go ahead and stretch or move around a little. It might seem like it is setting you back, but it can help in the long run. Try some sort of mental exercise to help you relax, so you are not so focused on your body or your racing thoughts. Count your breaths, or imagine pushing yourself back into your mattress, or your body flowing like water, or something like that. You can adapt any meditation tricks to help.
