Red face Was this my first taste of WILD?

Hi guys, It's 6:30 in the morning here in UK and I'm up and can't get back to sleep.

I woke up at half 5 this morning and decided I'd give WILD a go. I didn't really expect any results as I'm very new to the whole thing. Anyway yesterday evening I did my research all over the internet and then on DV (because it had the best collective information on WILD I could find) and knew how to start a WILD.

So it's half five and I'm laying here completely still. I start hearing music and hearing people speak to me. This is usually a sign I'm going to sleep but I'm laying there my whole body relaxed repeating in my head "I am dreaming". Anyway I must have lost myself as I'm now in the Gym with my mate Ed and he's telling me about this exercise that he just can't nail and asking me if he's sitting wrong on the bench or if he's just not moving his arms right. All of a sudden I hear myself thinking "I am dreaming" and that's it. I'm fully conscious that I'm laying in bed. My hold body is stiff, I can feel my lip drooping, I can hear a warm buzz all around the room and I've got a tingling all over my body.

What was this? Did I maybe get a little taste of WILD or WILD gone wrong?

All I know is I loved it. It felt so good and really strange.

I can not be totally sure but based on my WILD experiences it sounds like you transitioned, realized that you were dreaming but then you expected to be in your bed so you actually induced your own False Awakening. So basically you layed in a dream version of your dream trying to WILD.

I usually experience this and it used to be a huge problem, until I choosed to make it a part of my practise.

Whenever I feel strong weird sensations but still feel like I am just laying in my bed, I just get up!

Most of these attempts I am in a dream version of my room.

But well done you definitelly WILDed!

Hmm while you did have a lucid dream, I'm not absolutely sure it was a WILD. Now I'm not trying to demotivate you or anything, but from what I've learned and experienced, in WILD there is no lapse in consciousness. You are awake and in bed, then maybe get some imagery, hallucinations and sensations, then you start transitioning into the dream and you are lucid once you get in. For it to be a WILD, there should be no time where you drift off into the non-lucid dream even for a few seconds.

It is very common though to experience this, and to mistake it for a WILD. In fact, many of my lucids were this way, and I thought they were WILDs until I realized that many times, I'd notice the transition and get into the dream. However I would be nonlucid for a few seconds, and I'd even just stay in the dream and go along with it for a bit before I go 'wait this is just a dream'. In that case, it is technically a DILD since you became lucid some time while you were in a normal non-lucid dream.

In any case, I may have misinterpreted your post, and if I did, I apologize. It is ultimately up to you to decide and remember exactly how it happened. Regardless if it was a WILD or not, you still got lucid so hooray!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thank you MasterMind it was the first time I've ever tried it and I wasn't sure what it was. I suppose it's back to working out how I got there and to work on my timing.I'll try and recognise it next time and just get up. Excited to try again Friday night!

Thank you paigeyemps. I'm going to try it again Friday evening. I must say in the 12 hours I've been in the forum everyone has been most helpful! I look forward to properly reaching lucidity!
