External disturbances while trying to WILD??

I'm gonna try WILD-ing tonight, but the fan in my room is too noisy..
I mean I usually don't pay much attention to it, must have gotten used to it over the years.. but now that I'm trying to LD, I'm wondering if it's keeping me from relaxing and going into SP
      What do you people think?

It will only bother you if you let it. Most nights I have to sleep while my brothers go crazy on call of duty.

No a fan will not effect you. Just do whatever tutorial you follow, and if it specifically says no fans, then well obviously, but you can have anything you want going really if you dont care. I have that creaking noise from my fan and it doesn't bother me too much. But only things you specifically find to annoy u will annoy u.

If its a repetative continuous noise, try to capitalize on it by keeping it as a constant 'real world' anchor for your mind. Ive LD'd while the kids were screaming downstairs. Annoying yeah. But it still worked

Yeah i know exactly what you mean. I used to have 2-3 LDs a week. But i havent managed it for nearly 5 months now. Something going on!!

Having something constant that you know is waking world is quite good to attain SP
