Maybe you weren't do for another REM at that particular time. Im not sure, buddy. But damn, I wish I knew what all that felt like. Do you see the HI in your minds eye or is it while you're staring into the blackness of your eyelids? |

So this morning I attempted a WBTB WILD but I was exhausted from the day before I guess so I ended up just falling asleep. I woke up a couple of hours later and attempted to WILD again. The second time, I fell straight into HI in literally all of 5 seconds. My hallucinations typically last maybe 10 seconds before I start off a false awakening, but this time, for some reason, I was stuck in HI for over a minute. I was hearing the kinds of high pitched airplane sounds I typically hear, seeing nothing but white light (which is again typical for me) and my body was vibrating, but the imagery didn't intensify or change at all. Finally, I opened my eyes, trying to force myself into the dream, but ended up just waking up. I went back to sleep and again entered HI, but the same thing happened. |

Lucid dreams, gotta love em.
Well, if the REM cycle timing were off, I don't think I'd have even gotten that far. My hypnagogia has been changing on me a lot recently (it disappeared altogether for a while, and I would just randomly end up in a dream while trying to WILD ) so maybe this is normal. I'll try waiting it out next time if it happens again. Interestingly, while I was in HI, I was doing the nose RC and I was able to breathe, so I guess I was pretty far into the transition to the dream. |
