      A stupid fail, SP-wise.

I just had to get onto DV and ask a question about something that happened to me this morning...

I went to bed at around 10:00, as I wanted to WBTB WILD. So, I get up at 3:30 and do relaxation exercises, draw for ten minutes, blah blah, and get back into bed. I fall asleep, however.

The next morning, I wake up at around 10:00. It's light outside and I'm really hot because I was stupid and slept under three blankets and a feather duvet. So, I decide to chill out on top of the covers to cool off, and get a bit more sleep before my dad wakes me. After all, he gets up at like, eleven or twelve. After a few moments, I get uncomfortable though, without any covers, so I put a thin blanket over top of me.

I'm kind of lying with my arms above my head, my arms slightly curved, and the rest of me is straight. Oh, and I am also on my stomach.

After ten or fifteen minutes or so, I suddenly get rolling vibrations, almost like tingling, up and down my body. I realize this is SP, and so I hold on. After all, it felt like it could be a free WILD. Within a few seconds, the vibrations stop and I consider whether to roll out of bed. However, then it feels like the blanket on top of me is slowly rising off of me, and then I start getting a floating sensation. At the same time, I begin floating to the right, off my bed, and then start on a downwards incline, towards the door to my room. The wierd thing is, I can see where I am, from a first-person and third-person perspective. I'm still in the same position and all.

Then, it fades and I'm back in bed, all is quiet. I try rolling out, and bam, I hit my head on the floor as I land. Pretty embarassing. I do an RC and it's positive. No dream.

I change positions, my arms now at my side, and try again, since I got SP so easily that time... Unless it wasn't SP.

Another few minutes elapses, and I feel the blanket being PULLED off of me this time, without any vibrations. I then feel someone yanking me slowly off my bed. I fall onto the floor, slowly, as if there's low gravity. And then I'm being dragged on the floor, my leg gripped by something. I open my eyes, because I got a little freaked out, and the movement stops. I see a girl with shorter brown hair and a large steak knife in one hand, my leg in the other. Only a few moments passes before she suddenly disappears, and I'm back in bed.

      What the hell?

My question to you, DV members: was this actually SP, or a dream that I somehow managed to unconsciously fall into, that involved SP and the same room I was sleeping in?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

It looks like you over thought it.

That's what happens to me, and its the reason I fail at WILDS. Remember, you actually do have to fall asleep to WILD. And getting excited, unsurprisingly, wakes you up. My suggestion is to not stay up so long. I found its easier to get back to sleep and into a WILD if you've only been up for a minute or so. At
least its that way for me anyway.

That's very strange. I've never had anything like that happen to me, and I've been in SP a bajillion times. If I would call it anything, I'd say it was just a dream. Some times I hear you can fall into a dream while you're still trying to relax in your same bed and room and not realize it after SP is over or kicks in. So I say it was just a dream you fell into where you thought you were still awake in your bed.
