      WBTB issues

So, I recently had an LD through the WBTB technique. The next day I wanted to do the same, woke up after around 4.5 hours, but I dind't have a LD. I also don't remember being that tired in my PSAT (post sleep awake time) after having done this the first time. Is it because I didn't get enough sleep the other night? Because I also don't remember any dreams I had. I think I didn't get enough rest to have good REM phases. What do you think?

Edit: This night (the third night in row, that I'm trying this) was terrible.
I woke up at like 3am, and was awake for about 45 minutes. Then I went to bed. I couldn't sleep. I started turning and trying to get into a STS. Nothing worked. I wasn't tired anymore. It felt like I was awake until 9am, when I stood up.

WBTB doesn't guarantee a lucid dream. How long you need to stay up can be different each time - depends on how fast you wake up to just the right state of mind - to have logical thinking but still sleepy enough. Dream recall fluctuates. May or may not have anything to do with WBTB. You need to experiment to figure out your patterns - how long to stay up, best time for it, and so on. Good luck

If you just had your first LD through WBTB the other night, there's a rare chance that it will happen again the very next night. If you were thinking about it too much, that can hinder your results.

The reason you may have been tired after waking up is probably because you woke up directly after a REM period. Studies have shown that waking up after a REM cycle the brain will be the most alert (some people use this to wake up in the morning feeling alert instead of the usual groggy).

Just keep at it, try some relaxation techniques if your not tired enough eventually through practice you will get it down!

What relaxation techniques do you mean? And what you are saying sounds contradictious to me
