      Two Issues, please help.

Last night I ended a long dry spell with a lucid dream. It was good however it had two major issues.

      1. The dream was like the game Black and White 2, I had a birds eye view everything and didn't actually have a physical body. Therefore I couldn't do a lot except for destroyoing things. Whatever I tryed, I couldn't change the style or myself. I could change small things but that wasn't what I wanted.

      2. The reason why I woke up. I have a problem where in LDs everytime I close my eyes and then open them I wake up. It's really annoying because it means I couldn't dream spin which would have most probably solved problem one.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve these problems?

If you have to close your eyes, try to grab something and feel it, even if the only thing available is yourself. Or even just listen to the sounds of the dream. Anything to maintain a link with the dream world.

As for you incorporeal problem, you could try to enter the body of any random DC you see.

I don't mean to close my eyes otherwise I wouldn't do it, I'm not stupid.

Never thought of taking over a DCs body, I will try next time if it happens.

I bet that your dream body would have appeared if you tried to touch something or feel something. I find that my sense of touch is really important in dreams. It is way better at keeping the dream stabilized than my vision alone.

Maybe this is because we are used to seeing and hearing imaginary things, but not used to feeling imaginary things. Photographs, television and computer monitors have spoiled our vision. We can easily imagine the scenario where we are watching something, but not a part of it. This is what movies or video games are all about. Watching a whole believable world that is removed from ourselves. It is harder to imagine feeling something or touching something without being a part of it. Touching it connects you to it directly through your body. It puts your point of view in the same reality as the object you are touching.

Of course, this is just a generalization. If you try, you can feel things like pressure, texture, ect, without having a body to feel it. It is just a lot more foreign, and therefore hard to dream up. Those are the dreams where things get really weird.

Didn't mean imply ineptitude, just couldn't resist a classic. But next time that happens, just reach out and grab something. The ground, yourself, anything.

Oh yeah, DON'T SPIN! Try running instead, it's simple to do and less disorienting.
