      My second WILD, only lasting about 10 seconds.

      Just had my second WILD tonight. I've had a WILD before, but didn't really try to do it again until just recently. So the two last days, I have been trying to enter a WILD, after waking up from sleep at any point of the night.

      This seemed to work this morning;

      I just woke up from a nightmare. I wasn't really that spooked and I was able to wake up without moving an inch. Seemed like a good time to try a WILD. So I tried to drift off to sleep, like I usually do.

      After a while of laying there relaxing, I started falling asleep. My body suddenly felt distant somehow. That's when I started focusing on keeping aware.

      Much like the first WILD I had, I never saw any pictures before entering the dream. My hallucinations where only consistent of noises, REALLY loud ones. I heard this high-pitched annoying buzzing noise. I soon caught myself thinking "Hey, that sound resembles the one from the dentists drill."

      Soon after I entered the dream. I felt like waking up. And there I was, sitting at the dentists office. The dream was very unstable, and I desperately tried to stabilize it. I mainly tried touching my surroundings, and looking at my hands.

      So after about ten seconds of this, I actually woke up.
      Which brings me to a question I have;
      Why are my WILDs so short, and unstable?

      I figure it can be one out of two reasons. First of all, it's my first WILDs, I'm not used to it yet.
      Or it could be the fact that I did both of them in the morning, shortly after waking up from another dream.

      Any thoughts?

      I am fair and square, loud and clear. Yet, you associate me with fear.

      Although I haven't had a WILD, I'm guessing that you didn't involve yourself with the dream enough for it to stabilize. If you had jumped out of the dentist chair and spun around you probably would have maintained lucidity.

      Keep it up though!

      Reentering a dream always causes the subsequent lucids to be short, for me. I assume it is because I am at the end of a dream cycle, so there isn't much juice left in my dream batteries.

      That's just what I was afraid of

      If I can't WILD when waking up naturally, then that pretty much forces me to ruin my sleep routines. I don't want to choose between great lucid dreams, and the actual sleep..

      Just had my 3rd and 4th WILD this night. One of the attempts started about 5 hours into sleep, as I set an alarm clock. And the other was done like the two first, after exiting another dream.
      I could tell a MAYOR difference in length! One of them were perhaps half an hour in length, and incredibly vivid (The one after 5 hours of sleep). The other were perhaps 5-10'ish minutes and were less vivid.

      Well, seems waking myself up with an alarm clock is a must. But hell.. it's definitely worth it!
