Buzzing sensation - what should I do not to 'wake up'?

Often when I try to WILD, I go into what I think is a sleep state. I'm not paralyzed, I don't hear things, don't hallucinate, don't even get images in my mind. The only way to describe it is a 'buzzing feeling' in my head. It isn't a sound, but it feels a bit like a sound. It's a sensation distinct from any others. There's no question as to whether it's some stage of sleep. It definitely is. But which is it? Is it SP, even though no imagery is coming to mind? Apparently I've gotten SP before but it was nothing like this, so it seems one of them must not have been SP.

The buzzing sensation only lasts for a few seconds. Today, I tried calming myself and going along with it as much as possible, and remained in it for about a minute. But, as always, it abruptly stopped, for no apparent reason, and I went back to lying in bed feeling normal and awake for about 20 minutes before giving up. Is there anything specific I should be doing when this happens to keep it going?

This buzzing you describe is what I call hypnagogic pulsing (that isn't a real term, but that is what I call it ). Usually for me, it will pulse. It comes in and stays for a few moments and then stops. If you aren't caught off guard by it and just act as if nothing is happening, it generally comes back an does it again. After a bit, it will stay for a bit and then SP sets in. It happens right before SP. To keep this pulsing going, I lightly flex the muscle in the back of my head simultaneously with the pulse (bottom of head, top of neck area). I'm almost positive that not everyone has this happen to them. I have heard people ask about it before, and it is hard explain/describe. Whenever this happens, you can try the flex thing, but it is something I got a feel for with experience and may actually screw your chances up at first. I suggest, being prepared for it next time, and simple relax and experience the buzz without really acknowledging it. Just act as if nothing odd is happening. Continue with your WILD process and try not to focus on it. It should continue and eventually help SP set in. Hope I helped a bit. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Maybe HS? (Hypnotic Sounds. I think thats how you pronunciate it.) HS is when you here sounds sounds as you start to fall asleep or during SP. One time I heard a dog bark it kinda freaked me out for a second too. If you do here something that does kinda freak you out, just remember that its all you your head and its not real. Just think of it as something cool
