      Exclamation I need confirmation please

This is my first post, so I'm sorry if its not in the right place of if there are like, a million other posts exactly like it. I apologize.

So, I've been trying the WILD method for a while now. I keep a dream journal and I listen to the Binaural Beats track from the Unexplainable store and I usually have pretty good dream recall and relaxation processes and all that kind of stuff. However, when I try to WILD I usually end up just laying there for like an hour.
      However,
I can feel my body go numb-ish. though I dont get the vibrating feeling that people usually talk about. Here's where Im getting confused and would like some help. .

After about an hour, I can see the dream images forming but when I try to look into them my eyes just open and then it gets all messed up. Also, when I keep them closed I can feel a sinking feeling in my stomach. But then still nothing happens and I finally give up and just go to sleep. . .

So what I'm asking for is some help/ pointers.
-Is the sinking feeling natural and is it a good sign?
-How should I go about "entering" my dream?
-What am I doing or not doing that I should be??

      Please help

From what I've read, 1 is yes and yes, 2 is it should form around you, and 3, don't look into the dream images.

      - Yes the sinking feeling is natural and is part of the on-set of SP. Just continue to stay relaxed and act as if nothing strange is happening.
      - Well, you can't enter a dream unless you fall asleep. You said you gave up and fell asleep...but really the whole process should be you trying to fall asleep. When you start to get these images, don't look into them with any sort of focus. you basically want to observe these images from afar as if they were just a relatively uninteresting movie. Just sit back and relax, allow the images to come and go as they please and just continue to fall into a deeper and deeper sense of relaxation.
      - Always remember that is you find your self laying awake for long periods of time, you simply aren't falling asleep. You are either not tired enough (which doesn't seem to be the case here), or you are doing something that is keeping you awake.

      Hope this help a bit.

This used to be my problem with WILDing, I'd lie there for a really long time and not much would happen. Try waking yourself up in the middle of the night and then trying it again when you're dead tired. That way your body will fall asleep much faster, but you'll be able to keep your mind awake as you go into the hypnotic imagery and then into the dream. Ideally you would wake yourself up before the REM cycle.
