      Trying to WILD before tomorrow

I've been trying to fall back to sleep. I'm able to attain partial sleep paralysis that's very close to full SP but am not able to go all the way. This afternoon I went to bed because I felt exhausted, I woke up at 7PM and went back to bed at 8PM. I was hoping that I would be able to go straight into a lucid dream but so far I've had no luck. Should I wait an hour or should I try again now? What should I do if I wait?

I would honestly wait till tomorrow in the morning when you can do a WBTB as it will take less time and your dream will most likely last longer. Doing it at night is something I am also trying but that is simlply because I have been having insomnia for the past few days. However if you are still gonna try to WILD tonight, I would suggest you search up "free fall lucid dream technique" on dreamviews. Let me know how it goes

      here's an update:

I decided to wait for an hour and browsed the web.. this turned out to be a bad idea as it got my mind off lucid dreaming. Last night I tried again and was getting far - quickly. I almost got to full sleep paralysis but I moved due to a growing pain in my arms.. moving ruined my attempt. so I gave up for the night, so I'll try again when the time is right.

Had the pain not been there I am certain that I would have gotten to sleep paralysis and achieved transition.

Is it possible to succeed in doing a WILD even with pain? Will the pain subside as I wait for the transition to happen?

For some people, pain is an anchor that helps them stay just conscious enough to enter a WILD. For others, pain may keep them from falling asleep and doing a WILD. So it is possible to do a WILD with pain, but if you think that the pain is too much or too annoying then it'll probably keep you awake.
