      New Awareness Exercise?

I don't know if anyone have tried something similar, I just want to spread the word

I accidently stared into a lamp and started to see random flashes and colours when I closed my eyes. I was going to take a nap after a long day, so I went to bed and I still saw the flashes and colours, although they started to dissapear, but I somehow managed to keep them there by focusing on them.
And I kept my awareness on those spots for 5 minutes!
I was able to concentrate on the afterimage of a light and it was formed like a dot, so it felt extra cool.

So I thought why not use this "method" to pracctise awareness? Because you are focusing on something that isn't there, and therefore something non-physical!

It's hard to explain how I did it, but you just have to try it, but I will try to explain.
I stared into a lightsource (my desk lamp) then I closed my eyes and saw colours and tried to focus on the afterimage like I was watching something, but with closed eyes. You will notice that the afterimage gets smaller and depending on where you focus the "spot" will remain. With spot I mean a little dark and light circle, it looks like an eclipse for me. Then I just create a strong intention to make that spot remain.

I will try to use this as a meditation technique and see what happens
I thought this was extra cool, because instead of focusing on a imaginary candle or something like that, you focus on something you can already see from the beggining!

And also something cool to note, When you feel that the image has dissapeared behind closed eyes, if you open your eyes fast the image will be perfectly clear infront of you

I hope this motivates or helps someone =)

Thanks! I'll try this tonight and report back if it works. Do you keep your head still after you close your eyes? Do you leave the lamp on while you sleep?

I just found it so I have no real answer but while doing this I first waved the lightsource infront of my eyes just to see the colours, then I closed the lamp and closed my eyes.
I was in complete darkness and pretended that I was going to WILD, so I didn't moved a muscle, I also found it easier to concentrate on the afterimage if I was laying still.
But I have only used this for meditation so far, but I might try to WILD with it someday =)
