Need some help with Sleep Paralysis.

Hey guys, I've been attempting to WILD for about the past month or so, and i can't manage to enter sleep paralysis. I lie down on my back, and in my head, count every breath i take. Sometimes I go on counting for an hour or so, and then i just give up. Is there something i'm doing wrong? Also, am i supposed to be breathing in with my mouth or nose? When i breathe with my mouth, after a while it gets completely dry and feels terrible. Thanks!

Hi, from what I (in my limited knowledge and experience) can tell, I wouldn't actually count your breaths as it keeps your brain too awake and focused on your physical body. If you find counting comfortable, you can try this: 1, I'm dreaming, 2, I'm dreaming, 3, I'm dreaming and so on as you're counting your breaths. At one point, you'll go "X, I'm dreaming" and you'll actually be dreaming. Do reality checks when you feel like you need one. (I didn't invent this, but I forgot who did, credit goes to someone else, if someone knows who, please tell me so I can update this with correct credit)

I'd personally breathe through my nose, but that's because I always do..

what ^ said. except you dont have to lay on your back. lay on your side, belly, back, whatever makes you comfortable. if you dont usually sleep on your back but are WILDing on your back, it makes it confusing for your body and mind to fully relax and sleep (while you being conscious in this case).
