      Lookin for some advice

      Hey guys!
I'v been trying to lucid dream for like a month total time (maybe like 10-20 attempts?)
They all have failed but I haven't given up hope because each time I WILD I usually learn something new or just another trail/error session. I haven't gotten to SP yet (I'm not patient but I'm getting there). I start by getting up from my WTBT after about 5 hours of sleep. I then stay up 15 mins and do 2 simple math problems and then stretch and start. I do the flash relaxation (tensing all of your muscles in different areas of the body and letting them go limp). I then start repeating "A". Thats the farthest i'v gotten before i either think i failed or i fall asleep. I recently remembered that when you get a strong sudden urge to move don't move, which has led me to be hopeful i can get into SP soon because I know I have had that feeling 5 times probably. I know my plan of how to reach lucidity and I have tried every night this week, and I hope soon enough I will be able to LD. Does anyone have any advice on how I might improve? Any comments or anything would also be fine =)
      Thanks guys!

I would recommend trying DILDs before trying out WILDs. DILD is easier for
beginners, but once you are more experienced, WILDs can be more reliable.

      Good luck!

^^ What he said, it's weird how a lot of beginners jump straight to WILDs. I've been practicing recall and reality checks for two weeks and this past week I've had 3 DILDs and my first 2 WILDs ever.

Have you read through some of our WILD guides? We have a few in the Wiki - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views Read through a few to get the feeling for what you should be doing. There is no single right way. I like to use tactile visualizations to coax my attention away from my real body.

Again, I'd say you are thinking about it too much, I'd also read around as many techniques on the site that you can and try to find one that you like, but the main idea is that you let your mind pretty much fall asleep as well as your body. Most people fail because they aren't relaxed enough.
