I think hypnic jerk is just one swift jerk of mostly your legs, but could be whole body. This is associated with process of falling asleep. |

I was attempting WILD during an afternoon nap today and my body reached full SP and I kept getting imagery followed by a falling sensation. This is the same feeling I experienced when falling into my first WILD but this time it just kept returning me to SP. I remained in SP and was able to repeat this falling sensation and the imagery over and over again for about an hour, the sensation would roll on every 5 minutes or so. I was hoping to fall into my dream like I did last night but the falling sensation seems to increase my heart rate dramatically and my heart pumps a lot stronger after it. Almost feels like adrenaline. |

Ah okay, that makes sense, I was wondering before laying down if I would be able to have REM because an hour and a half prior I rode 11 miles on my mountain bike so I am guessing that is what prevented me from entering REM. This is pretty exciting I think I am able to reach that falling point almost at will now |

It is said, that you should go straight into REM during your nap, but I guess there may be some exceptions to this. If you can get the falling feeling at will, try WBTB. Get up at night after at least 4.5 hrs of sleep and stay up for anywhere from 5-60 min, until you can think straight, but you are still sleepy enough to fall asleep fast. You have to get out of bed and put the lights on. Happy dreams |

Thank you for this tip! The night after my first WILD I tried to just stay still when I woke up after each REM cycle. I found myself falling asleep into an unaware dream. |
|
Try the same thing (not moving) when you wake up from a dream. That way you know for sure you are in REM (unless it's the end of REM) and you are still in SP from previous dream. Think of that dream and within seconds, you should enter another dream, this time lucid. This is a DEILD. |

Just wanted to post an update, I've been struggling with WILD the past couple nights but I was able to have one last night. Hopefully this may help any one else that has been struggling. |
|
Couldnt edit my last post and i just wanted to post an update. For me using alarms before my rem cycle was interrupting my sleep cycle, right before i stopped i went from having 4 vivid dreams a night down to 1 unclear dream. The night i changed back to my normal sleeping habits with no alarms i had a successful WILD. |
|
Congrats to your WILD! |
