Is the first time the hardest ?

Ok so I been trying to achieve my first wild for like 8 months now and when I think back on it I wonder to myself that I couldnt believe its taking this long. Now Ive had lucid dreams before, at first when I first started this I thought a lucid dream was gonna be the hardest thing to achieve but it turned out to be the complete opposite. Anyway what im really trying to say here is that because I havent had my first wild will the time of me reaching sp be farther away than a person who actually knows how to do it ? And if I didnt make that clear enough I mean for example : lets say theres a lucid dreamer who is good at dild and lets say there a dreamer who is good at wild... Now would the lucid dreamer who is good at dild have the same chances of entering sp as quick as a experienced wild lucid dreamer. Or would the time be farther away like a hour away naturally cause he hasnt did it before ?

What might be a nightmare for one might be a wonderful dream for the other

To me, at any given moment you can be either a mere second away from reaching SP, or you could be 15 minutes away. Or 30 minutes away. And how far away you are changes with every moment that passes. So what I'm saying is time is mostly irrelevant during your WILD attempt. You will succeed in a WILD only when you maintain the correct mental state long enough for SP to trigger. Exactly how long it takes to reach that correct mental state will vary. Exactly how long you need to maintain it will vary. Exactly what that correct mental state is is unknown.

We all enter SP each night just before we start to dream, so I would say, we all are pretty good at it. It's more of the matter to stay aware during the process. This is the hard part, because you have to stay awake but then fall asleep just at the right time.

WILDing is not easy, because there is so many variables and all of them have to go right for you to achieve WILD. But you could be right, that first WILD may be the hardest, because you don't know the sensations and what to do. Subsequent ones may be easier, because you are already somewhat familiar with the process and what to expect. Although don't realy on that too much. Pretty much each time I WILD, the experience is somewhat different from previous ones.

Have you checked out Sageouse's WILD class in DV? It's a long read but really worth it. Happy dreams
